In 30 years will be more plastic bags and bottles swimming in the oceans than fishes. This horrifying pictures was drawn in this week by UN Secretary General António Guterres while the UN Maritime Conference in New York. He invited all participants from nearly 200 different countries to overcome their territorial and national interests and fight together for a more careful dealing of the oceans.
What is sad on this: there are already functional strategies and proven products that could minimize each personal contribution to plastic in the seas. One example in the textile industry are polyester textiles made out of recycled plastic bottles.
